Karen Zill

Karen Zill is an educational media consultant based in Washington, DC. For almost 25 years, she worked in public television doing educational outreach, first at WNET in New York, then at WETA in Washington, DC. During that time she planned numerous outreach campaigns, wrote activity guides and lesson plans for public television projects, and conducted media literacy workshops for teachers, parents and students - all of which she continues to do as a freelancer.

As an active member of Women in Film & Video in Washington, DC, Zill helps plan and conduct presentations on behalf of WIFV's Education Roundtable. She also serves as AMLA's liaison to the National Forum on Information Literacy, which meets in Washington three times a year.

Zill has been an advisor to the International Technology Education Association and is currently a member of the Committee on Women in Engineering, a project of the National Academy of Engineering. She holds a Bachelor's degree in child development from Cornell University and a Master's degree in early childhood education from Teacher's College-Columbia University.
